Founded in 2018 by Raphaël Vullierme and Benoît Bourdel, Luko is a Paris-based digital insurance company with the mission to make insurance simple, transparent, and focused on prevention. As a certified B-Corp, the company built its model on using technology, such as proprietary sensors, to help customers prevent accidents and reduce claims. Luko's primary offerings are home and renter's insurance, with a "Giveback" program where a portion of unused premiums is donated to charities chosen by policyholders. After a period of rapid growth, the company faced financial difficulties and was placed in receivership before being acquired by Allianz Direct in late 2023, allowing it to continue its operations.
