Information by Research TrustFinance
The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance ("The Lab") is an incubator and accelerator focused on identifying, developing, and launching cutting-edge financial instruments to unlock private capital for climate change solutions in developing economies. Launched in 2014 by a coalition of governments (including the UK, Germany, and the U.S.), major foundations, and investors, The Lab is managed by Climate Policy Initiative (CPI). It functions by sourcing new climate finance ideas, putting them through a rigorous analysis and stress-testing process with experts and investors, and ultimately supporting the most promising concepts toward launch. Since its inception, The Lab's endorsed instruments have mobilized over USD 3.9 billion for climate action.
