The Texas County & District Retirement System (TCDRS) was established by the Texas Legislature in 1967. It is a unique, agent multiple-employer public retirement system that provides reliable and securely funded retirement benefits for the employees of more than 850 Texas counties and districts. TCDRS is a savings-based plan, where member deposits, employer matching contributions, and investment income grow over time to provide a lifetime monthly benefit for its more than 350,000 members.
