StakerDAO was launched as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) built on the Tezos blockchain. Its mission was to provide a framework for the community-governed management of crypto assets. The platform allowed holders of its native governance token, STKR, to propose, vote on, and direct the platform's strategy, including the launch of new financial products (known as "Staker products") and management of the treasury. The project aimed to bridge traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi) by creating tokenized, yield-bearing assets governed by a decentralized community.
