Founded in 1899 by Johann Puch in Graz, Austria, Puch was a renowned manufacturing company known for its high-quality bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles. The company later merged to become part of the large Steyr-Daimler-Puch conglomerate. It produced a wide range of vehicles, including the iconic Puch 500 automobile and the all-terrain Haflinger and Pinzgauer vehicles. In the late 1980s, the conglomerate was broken up. The primary manufacturing plant in Graz was acquired by Magna International and now operates as Magna Steyr, a leading global automotive supplier. The "Puch" brand name for bicycles was sold to Cycleurope of Sweden, while the brand for motorcycles and scooters was sold to Piaggio of Italy.
