Alterna Savings and Credit Union Limited is a full-service, member-owned financial co-operative with a history dating back over a century. It operates with a mission to be the "good in banking," focusing on community well-being and providing ethical financial services to its members across Canada. In 2018, PACE Savings & Credit Union was placed under administration by the provincial regulator due to governance and operational issues. Alterna Savings was subsequently selected to help stabilize and merge with PACE, a process that concluded with PACE branches being officially rebranded as Alterna Savings in 2022, ensuring continued service for its members under a new, stable governance structure.
