NSSF SACCO Society Limited was registered in 1993 under the Co-operative Societies Act of Kenya. Initially, its membership was exclusively for the staff of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), but it has since opened its common bond to include other organizations, individuals, and corporate entities. The SACCO's core business is to mobilize savings from its members and provide them with affordable credit facilities for their economic and social empowerment. It operates both Back Office Service Activity (BOSA) for long-term savings and loans, and Front Office Service Activity (FOSA), which provides accessible, banking-like services such as savings accounts, salary processing, and ATM access.
