Los Alamos Schools Credit Union
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 1955 by ten teachers with an initial investment of just $55, Los Alamos Schools Credit Union (LASCU) was established to serve the financial needs of the local educational community. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to provide quality financial services to its members. Unlike a traditional bank, LASCU is owned by its members, and any profits are returned to them in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings dividends, and improved services. The credit union offers a full range of banking products, including checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgages, and personal loans, primarily for those who live, work, worship, or attend school in Los Alamos County.
