The Icesave Action Group was a grassroots consumer advocacy organization established in October 2008, immediately following the collapse of the Icelandic bank Landsbanki and its UK online savings arm, Icesave. The group's primary mission was to lobby the UK and Icelandic governments, regulators, and the administrators of Landsbanki to ensure the full and prompt return of savings to over 200,000 UK depositors. They organized legal actions, coordinated with the media, and provided a unified voice for affected savers, playing a significant role in ensuring that depositors were eventually compensated in full through a combination of the UK's Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the proceeds from the liquidation of Landsbanki's assets.
