The Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC) was established in 1954 by an Act of Parliament (Cap 445). As a government-owned DFI, its primary mission is to facilitate the industrial and economic growth of Kenya by providing medium and long-term finance, as well as business support services, to local entrepreneurs and industries. ICDC invests in a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, agro-processing, ICT, and real estate, through debt financing, equity participation, and strategic partnerships. It plays a crucial role in implementing the government's development agenda by de-risking investments and catalysing private sector participation in key economic areas.
