The Financial Sector Deepening Tanzania (FSDT) is an independent, non-profit development organization established in 2004. Its primary mission is to act as a catalyst for making financial markets work better for all Tanzanians, particularly for underserved populations and small businesses. FSDT achieves this by providing a combination of grants, technical assistance, and research to financial institutions, policymakers, and other market actors to drive innovation, improve regulatory frameworks, and build a more accessible and efficient financial ecosystem. The organization is funded by various development partners, including the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and the Government of Denmark (Danida).
