The Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) is a state-owned enterprise created by Namibia's Parliament through the Environmental Investment Fund Act of 2001. Its core mission is to promote sustainable economic development by investing in and promoting activities that protect and maintain the country's natural and environmental resources. The EIF acts as a key financial vehicle to mobilize, manage, and disburse funds for a variety of environmental projects, including climate change adaptation and mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable land management, through mechanisms such as grants, concessional loans, and green bonds.
