Community Futures Central Island is a community-driven, non-profit organization funded by the Canadian federal government through Pacifican (formerly Western Economic Diversification Canada). Its mission is to support community economic development by assisting rural entrepreneurs in starting, expanding, or purchasing a business. The organization provides a range of services including business loans up to $300,000 for new or existing businesses, one-on-one business counselling and support, and various business workshops and training programs. It focuses on filling a financing gap for small businesses that may not qualify for loans from traditional financial institutions.
