Founded in 2012, Channel VAS specialized in offering Mobile Financial Services, Airtime Credit Services, and data analytics to mobile network operators (MNOs), enabling them to provide micro and nano-lending services to their subscribers. The company's mission was to lead the digital and financial inclusion of unbanked and underbanked populations in emerging markets across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. In May 2021, Channel VAS was fully acquired by mobile marketing automation leader Upstream and its brand and operations have since been integrated into the Upstream platform.
