The California Hub for Energy Efficiency Financing (CHEEF) is a public resource administered by the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA), which is housed in the State Treasurer’s Office. Established under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), CHEEF's mission is to leverage private capital to increase the availability of affordable financing for energy efficiency projects. It designs and manages financing pilot programs that work with private financial institutions to offer attractive financing solutions, helping homeowners and businesses invest in energy-saving upgrades.
