Awamu is a non-profit organization that works to create lasting change for women and children living in the slums of Kampala, Uganda, particularly those affected by HIV/AIDS. Founded on the principle of empowering local communities, Awamu partners with Ugandan community-based organizations to provide access to education for orphaned children and deliver skills training and income-generating opportunities for their guardians. Their mission is to help these communities build a better, more secure future for themselves.
