Originally known as Atlantia S.p.A., the company was a world leader in the infrastructure sector, managing toll road concessions and airports. Following the tragic collapse of the Morandi Bridge in Genoa in 2018, which was operated by its subsidiary, the company faced intense scrutiny and political pressure, leading to the sale of its Italian motorway unit, Autostrade per l'Italia. In 2022, the Benetton family's holding company and the US investment fund Blackstone acquired and delisted Atlantia. In March 2023, the company was rebranded as Mundys, shifting its mission towards developing integrated, sustainable, and innovative mobility infrastructure on a global scale.
