Founded in 1912, the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) is a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization that serves as the primary liaison between the insurance industry and law enforcement. It is supported by nearly 1,200 property-casualty insurance companies, self-insured entities, and vehicle rental companies. The NICB's mission is to lead a unified effort to combat and prevent insurance crime through data analytics, investigations, training, legislative advocacy, and public awareness. They maintain the most comprehensive database of insurance claims in the country, which they use to identify criminal networks and fraudulent activities.
