Originally established as Karvy Fintech Private Limited, the company was a prominent Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA) in India. In 2018, the global growth equity firm General Atlantic acquired a majority stake. Following severe regulatory actions and a major fraud scandal involving its group company, Karvy Stock Broking Ltd., Karvy Fintech underwent a significant rebranding in 2019 to KFin Technologies Limited (KFintech). This was done to distance itself from the tarnished "Karvy" brand and establish a new corporate identity. Today, KFintech is a major player in the investor and issuer solutions space, serving asset managers in India and other countries with services like RTA, fund accounting, and digital transformation solutions.
