Formed in 2000 through the merger of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company, HKEX's mission is to connect China with the world. Its business encompasses a wide range of services including listing, trading, clearing, and market data for equities, derivatives, commodities, and fixed-income products. In 2012, HKEX further expanded its global reach by acquiring the London Metal Exchange (LME).
