The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CBAR) is the central bank and primary financial regulator of Azerbaijan. Established in its modern form in 1992, its core mission is to maintain price stability, ensure the stability and development of the financial and banking systems, and organize reliable and efficient payment systems. The CBAR is exclusively authorized to issue the national currency, the Manat, and it manages the country's foreign exchange reserves, formulates and implements monetary policy, and acts as the banker and financial agent for the government.
