Originally launched in 2016 as a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace and part of the VIA SMS Group, VIAINVEST transitioned into a licensed investment brokerage firm in 2021. It is supervised by Latvijas Banka (the central bank of Latvia). The platform allows retail and professional investors to invest in asset-backed securities, which are financial instruments backed by pools of loans (e.g., consumer, business) originated by various credit institutions. Its mission is to provide a transparent and regulated environment for individuals to access alternative investment opportunities in the private credit market.
