Nequi is a 100% digital neobank that was initially launched in 2016 as a spin-off of Bancolombia, Colombia's largest bank. Its mission is to revolutionize banking and promote financial inclusion by providing accessible, user-friendly, and low-cost financial services to a young, digitally-native audience. In 2022, Nequi was legally constituted as a separate financial company, Nequi S.A. Compañía de Financiamiento, operating independently but still part of the Bancolombia Group. The platform allows users to open an account in minutes, send and receive money, pay bills, recharge cell phone credit, save in "pockets" or for specific goals, and access a Visa debit card and micro-loans, all through a mobile application.
