Founded in 1960, JASON is an independent scientific advisory group that provides consulting services to the U.S. government on technical and scientific challenges. The group consists of a multi-disciplinary panel of top-tier scientists who conduct in-depth studies and offer objective analysis on critical issues related to national security, defense, energy, and intelligence. The MITRE Corporation, a non-profit organization, administers the JASON program and manages its contracts with government sponsors.
