Housing Australia
Information by Research TrustFinance
Housing Australia, formerly known as the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC), is a corporate Commonwealth entity established by the Australian Government under the *Housing Australia Act 2018*. Its mission is to improve housing outcomes by providing long-term, low-cost finance and capacity-building support to registered community housing providers (CHPs). The organization facilitates this through its key functions: the Affordable Housing Bond Aggregator (AHBA), which provides cheaper and longer-term finance for CHPs, and the National Housing Infrastructure Facility (NHIF), which offers concessional loans, grants, and equity finance for housing-enabling infrastructure. It also administers the Home Guarantee Scheme on behalf of the government to help eligible homebuyers purchase a home sooner.
