Founded in 1994 with an initial $1 million investment from the Virginia Tech Foundation, the Student-managed Endowment for Educational Development (SEED) is a premier experiential learning program within the Pamplin College of Business. Its core mission is to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in financial analysis and portfolio management by entrusting them with the responsibility of managing a real-money investment portfolio, which has since grown to over $5 million. The organization bridges the gap between academic theory and real-world investment practice, preparing students for careers in the financial industry.
