Established in 1986 by the Government of Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Pension Plan (SPP) is a non-profit, voluntary defined contribution pension plan. Its mission is to provide a straightforward and low-cost retirement savings option for individuals who may not have access to a workplace pension. While established by the provincial government, the plan is open to all Canadians with RRSP contribution room, regardless of their employment status or province of residence.
