Founded in 1963 in Vetlanda, Sweden, Sapa Group grew to become the world's leading producer of extruded aluminum profiles. The company provided a wide range of aluminum solutions to the construction, automotive, industrial, and consumer goods sectors. In 2013, Sapa became a 50/50 joint venture between Orkla and Norsk Hydro, creating the world's largest aluminum extrusion company, Sapa AS. In 2017, Norsk Hydro acquired Orkla's 50% share, taking full ownership. Following the acquisition, the Sapa brand and operations were fully integrated into Hydro's business area, Extruded Solutions, and the company now operates under the Hydro brand.
