RSK Labs was founded to create the RSK (Rootstock) platform, the first open-source smart contract platform secured by the Bitcoin Network. Its mission is to add Turing-complete smart contract capabilities to Bitcoin, enabling decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi solutions to leverage Bitcoin's security and network effects. The company behind the development of the RSK protocol is now IOVLabs, which was formed by the original RSK Labs leadership team. IOVLabs continues to develop the RSK platform and the RIF (RSK Infrastructure Framework) OS to build a more secure, decentralized, and inclusive financial system.
