Originally established as Prestige Health Choice, the company served as a managed care plan for Florida's Medicaid recipients. In 2015, it was acquired by the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, a national leader in Medicaid managed care. The company continued to operate under the Prestige name for several years before officially rebranding to AmeriHealth Caritas Florida in 2019. Its mission is to help people get care, stay well, and build healthy communities by providing comprehensive health care services to vulnerable populations throughout Florida.
