It provides an alternative to traditional insurance by creating a risk-sharing pool where members can purchase "coverage" to protect themselves against smart contract failures, protocol hacks, stablecoin de-pegging events, and other specific crypto-native risks. Instead of being operated by a central company, claims assessment and business decisions are managed by its members, who stake the native token, NXM.
