Newedge
Information by Research TrustFinance
Newedge was formed in 2008 through the merger of Fimat (a Société Générale subsidiary) and Calyon Financial (a Crédit Agricole CIB subsidiary), creating one of the world's largest futures commission merchants (FCMs). The firm provided institutional clients, such as hedge funds, asset managers, and corporations, with a comprehensive suite of services including global execution, clearing, prime brokerage, and financing across a wide range of asset classes, including futures, options, equities, and fixed income. In 2014, Société Générale acquired the remaining stake from Crédit Agricole, taking full ownership. Subsequently, Newedge was fully integrated into Société Générale's Global Markets division, and the Newedge brand was discontinued.
