The Metropolitan Action Commission (Metro Action or MAC) is a non-profit Community Action Agency operating as a department within the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County. Established to combat poverty, MAC offers a range of programs and services aimed at improving the lives of low-income residents. Its key initiatives include early childhood education through Head Start, housing and rent assistance, utility bill support (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program - LIHEAP), and economic empowerment programs to foster self-sufficiency.
