Maryland Commercial PACE
Information by Research TrustFinance
The Maryland Commercial PACE (MD-PACE) Program is a public-private partnership administered by the Maryland Clean Energy Center (MCEC), a state-chartered green bank. The program provides a financing mechanism that allows owners of commercial, industrial, and non-profit properties to fund up to 100% of the costs for energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy projects. The financing is repaid over the long term (up to 25 years) as a voluntary special assessment on the property's tax bill, which transfers to the new owner upon sale of the property. The mission is to stimulate economic development and create jobs by encouraging sustainable building upgrades across Maryland.
