Founded in 2001, Mackenzie Hall Group was a contingent consumer debt collection agency headquartered in Kilmarnock, Scotland. The company specialized in purchasing portfolios of non-performing consumer debt from major creditors like banks, credit card companies, and other lenders at a discount, and then working to collect the full amount from the debtors. In 2012, the firm was acquired by the US-based Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC (now PRA Group, Inc.), a global leader in acquiring and collecting non-performing loans. Following the acquisition, Mackenzie Hall's operations and staff were integrated into PRA Group's UK business, and the Mackenzie Hall brand and legal entity were eventually retired.
