Originally established in 2000 as Leumi Card Ltd., a subsidiary of Bank Leumi, the company became one of Israel's largest credit card issuers and processors. Following the implementation of the Strum Committee's recommendations to increase competition in the Israeli banking sector, the company was sold to the private equity firm Warburg Pincus in 2018 and formally separated from the bank. In 2019, it was rebranded as "Max IT Finance Ltd." and now operates as an independent financial entity. Its core business includes issuing and clearing a variety of credit cards (including Visa and Mastercard), providing consumer and business loans, and offering advanced payment and credit solutions to both private and commercial customers.
