It functioned as a P2P information intermediary, connecting individual lenders with borrowers through its online platform and offering various investment products. Following the nationwide regulatory crackdown and restructuring of China's P2P lending industry, Lanjinrong announced it would cease new business operations in 2020 and began a "benign exit" process focused on liquidating assets and repaying its existing investors.
