Founded in 2010, Lainaaja.fi was one of Finland's pioneering peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms, operated by the company Vertaislaina Oy. Its service allowed private individuals to invest by lending money directly to other individuals, who could apply for loans for various purposes. The platform facilitated the entire process, from loan application and credit assessment to fund transfers and repayments, creating a marketplace for consumer credit. In October 2018, Vertaislaina Oy merged with Fellow Finance Plc, another major player in the Finnish fintech market. The Lainaaja.fi brand was absorbed, and its operations were integrated into Fellow Finance, which later rebranded to Fais Plc in 2023.
