Founded in 2016, Kupi was a fintech startup based in Indonesia that specialized in offering point-of-sale financing solutions, commonly known as 'buy now, pay later'. The company's mission was to make credit more accessible for online shoppers by allowing them to purchase items and pay for them in installments. In late 2017, Kupi was acquired by the Indonesian ride-hailing giant Gojek. The Kupi team and its technology were integrated into Gojek's payment arm, GoPay, to develop and launch the service now known as GoPayLater. As a standalone brand, Kupi is no longer operational.
