PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is a joint venture established in October 2015 between a consortium of Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (PT Pilar Sinergi BUMN Indonesia) and a consortium of Chinese railway companies (Beijing Yawan HSR Co. Ltd). The company's primary mission was to construct and operate the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, a major national strategic project in Indonesia. The service, branded as "Whoosh" (Waktu Hemat, Operasi Optimal, Sistem Hebat - Time Saving, Optimal Operation, Great System), aims to provide modern, efficient, and reliable transportation to stimulate economic growth and connectivity between the two major metropolitan areas.
