Established in 2011 and commencing operations in 2012, Ibdaa Bank is a non-profit social business bank operating under the supervision of the Central Bank of Syria. It was founded as part of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development's (AGFUND) initiative to establish microfinance banks across the Arab world. The bank's core mission is to combat poverty and unemployment by offering a range of loan products and financial services tailored to the needs of the poor, small and micro-entrepreneurs, and craftspeople, empowering them to improve their economic and social conditions.
