Financial Ombudsman Service
Information by Research Trustfinance
The Financial Ombudsman Service is a free and impartial dispute resolution authority established by the UK Parliament. Its mission is to resolve individual disputes between consumers and financial businesses fairly and with minimum formality. It covers a wide range of financial products and services, including banking, insurance, mortgages, investments, and pensions. When a complaint cannot be resolved directly with the financial business, the consumer can refer their case to the Ombudsman, whose decisions are binding on the business if the consumer accepts them.
