Founded in 1997, Expert RA is the largest credit rating agency in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. The agency assigns credit ratings to a wide range of entities, including companies, financial institutions, insurance companies, regional and municipal authorities, and structured financial instruments. In addition to credit ratings, Expert RA conducts extensive industry research, compiles rankings, and provides ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings and analytics. In 2015, the company expanded its international presence by establishing Expert RA GmbH (operating under the brand RAEX-Europe) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, which is registered with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to operate within the European Union.
