The East Africa Exchange (EAX) was established as a private sector-led regional commodity exchange to create a more efficient, transparent, and orderly market system in East and Central Africa. Its mission is to facilitate trade for a wide range of agricultural commodities, providing market participants with crucial services like price discovery, trade facilitation, clearing and settlement, and access to warehousing and collateral management. By doing so, EAX aims to increase market access and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers across the region.
