Founded in 1923, DVB Bank SE established itself as a leading international specialist in transport finance. The bank's core business involved providing structured financing, investment management, and advisory services for assets in shipping, aviation, and land transport (rail and road). Its mission was to be the preferred provider of financial solutions for the global transportation industry by leveraging deep sector expertise. In 2017, DZ BANK AG became the sole shareholder and subsequently integrated DVB's core business areas. DVB Bank ceased independent operations at the end of 2022, with its remaining portfolio now being managed and wound up within the DZ BANK group.
