C40 Cities Finance Facility
Information by Research TrustFinance
The C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) is a collaborative initiative established in 2016 to help cities in the Global South accelerate their climate action projects. It provides cities with direct technical assistance to structure projects and make them "finance-ready" for investors. The CFF is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Government of the United Kingdom, and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and is jointly implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. Its mission is to bridge the gap between cities' climate ambitions and their ability to access the necessary financing to realize them.
