Established in 1947 in the basement of the Pentagon, the Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA) is a not-for-profit member-owned association dedicated to promoting the welfare of its members and their families. Its mission is to provide access to affordable and comprehensive life insurance coverage and other financial benefits. AFBA's life insurance products are underwritten by 5Star Life Insurance Company, a related enterprise of AFBA. The association serves a broad community including all branches of the armed forces, federal employees, first responders, and their families.
