The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group is a public financial institution that implements the policy defined by the French Government. It works to combat poverty and climate change and promote sustainable development in developing countries and French Overseas Territories. Originally founded in 1941, AFD finances, supports, and accelerates transitions towards a fairer and more resilient world by providing financing (loans, grants), technical assistance, and research to states, local authorities, public companies, the private sector, and NGOs.
