3V Transaction Services
Information by Research TrustFinance
Founded in 2004 and based in Dublin, Ireland, 3V Transaction Services pioneered the concept of single-use and reloadable virtual prepaid Visa cards. The service allowed consumers to purchase a "3V Voucher" with a unique 16-digit Visa number, expiry date, and CVV2 code, which could then be used for online shopping without exposing their actual bank or credit card details. The company was regulated as an Electronic Money Institution by the Central Bank of Ireland. In 2014, it was acquired by Optimal Payments Plc (which rebranded to Paysafe Group in 2015), and the 3V service was eventually phased out and integrated into Paysafe's broader product portfolio, including services like paysafecard.
