Tapp, also known as Tapp Commerce, was a financial technology company founded in 2013 with a mission to bridge the digital divide for the "next billion" consumers. The company developed a platform that utilized a network of mobile agents to facilitate cash-based payments for online services, digital goods, and bills. This model targeted the large unbanked and underbanked populations in Southeast Asia, allowing them to participate in the digital economy without needing a bank account or credit card. In 2018, Tapp was acquired by and became part of the social trading and brokerage firm, Ayondo Group, which later faced insolvency and ceased operations. While Tapp's website remains online, the company is no longer actively operating following the collapse of its parent company.
